It has almost been one full week since the birth of our first daughter, Sophia, and it has been amazing to go through the entire process over the past 39 weeks. Childbirth is a miracle and it has been excited, scary, and nerve racking at times, to go from the size of a poppy seed to a 6lb 9oz healthy and beautiful baby girl. As we left the hospital to go home, I felt an overwhelming amount of gratitude towards all of the people who helped us every step of the way. We may never see some of these people but they will always hold a special place in our heart for all of their help.

Special thanks goes to all of the remarkable individuals at South Denver OBGYN, especially Sue Saindon and Dr. Roy Bergstrom. Sue was with us from the beginning of the pregnancy to the very end where she helped deliver our daughter. She was also a calming and supportive influence for my wife the minutes leading up to the delivery. Dr. Bergstrom did a fantastic job of delivering our daughter and also of letting us know the best items to order off of the room service menu, namely the cinnamon rolls.

From the time we checked in at 5:30am, the staff at Littleton Adventist Hospital did a superb job of getting us ready for the impending birth. It was nice to see a familiar face in Anne Marie, who had helped us a few weeks earlier with the external version. Anne Marie was with us in the OR and was the first one to hold Sophia and provide her with immediate care and love. After the delivery, we were graced with post partum nurses Amy, Lisa, Lynda and others who helped with our every need. Additionally, Mary the lactation specialist did a remarkable job of helping my wife with breast feeding and provided excellent information, advice, and support along the way.

Each one of these individuals had a positive impact on our experience and lives and we can only begin to scratch the surface of our overwhelming thanks, gratitude, admiration and appreciation for all they have done.

It is said that people come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime and because of each one of these individuals, we will forever be blessed with a lifetime of love for our daughter.

Thank you!
